Sarah and George met way back in 2014… online of all places! George impressed Sarah with an utterly hilarious chat-up line and she agreed to meet in London one day after work. (There was absolutely no pity from Sarah involved in relation to the chat-up line). On the day, Sarah entered the pub where George nervously waited, and then… she proceeded to walk straight past him! Fortunately, Sarah got her bearings and found George, dashing as ever, waiting to buy her a drink.
A few months later, George plucked up the courage to “officially” confirm that they were now… an “item”. At the top of the London Eye, in front of a packed POD, the audience all took a big gasp when George said “I have a question I want to ask you”… every single one of the audience was then left disappointed when George asked if Sarah would be his girlfriend… Sarah said “Oh! Look at that boat down there!” Not hearing a no from Sarah, George took this as a yes, and they proceeded to descend from the top of the London Eye in what was the longest 20 minutes of Sarah’s life. (To make up for the awkwardness Sarah felt from this public display of affection, 2 takeaways in the same night were in order).
Fast forward 9 years to December 2023, and now 1 cat, 1 dog, and 2 homes later, it was about time that George asked the “real” question to Sarah. So, with a 50-day countdown to the “surprise”, Sarah’s anxiety kicked in nice and early. Whisked away on a long weekend including Christmas markets, spa retreats, the theatre, dinners out, clay pigeon shooting and their own private cabin, as the snow was falling outside the window by the fireplace, George got down on his now 1 good knee, and held his breath as Sarah read her penultimate letter… and then… she said “YES!” (The real one)! Most people celebrate with a glass of champagne and run to call their loves ones… (but, this is Sarah), so a lay down and a glass of water were in order. Finally, to wrap it all up, after dinner… Sarah found out that the family was about to get 1 more addition on the trip back home, another spotty dog!
So, after what will be more than 10 years together, Sarah and George are delighted to invite you to spend their special day with them, in Santorini in July 2025… (it’s Freddo Espresso time)!
